For the 2016 Team Rice project, we built a biosensor construct in E. coli between pBAD and iRFP713 as part of proof-of-concept experiments, in that iRFP713 is a viable contrast agent for photoacoustic imaging, but that our desired constructs will have different promoters, sensitive to biological indicators of gastrointestinal inflammation.
