Design Notes
This is the DNA coding for the enzyme propionate CoA transferase from Clostridum propionicum. The sequence was codon optimized for Pseudomonas putida and one amino acid mutation (A243T) was introduce in order to produce (D)-Lactyl-CoA. For the design, silent mutation was used for removing restriction site. The iGEM Team Evry 2016 used this enzyme as the first enzyme in the pathway to produce Polylactic acid (PLA) in Pseudomonas putida.
