Rv3030 is a genetic sequence which codes for a potential acylation candidate protein which will acylate glycogen chains in bacteria. The promoter is an inducible promoter induced by IPTG, which will express the protein and glycogen will therefore be acylated. These genetic sequences are inserted into the standard iGEM vector.

Rv3030 with IPTG-inducible promoter

K1618007 contains the coding sequence for Rv3030 from Mycobacterium tuberculosis (strain ATCC 25618) under control of the LacI promoter. Rv3030 is a putative S-adenosylmethionine-dependent methyltransferase and/or acyltransferase.
