Strong RBS + Proteorhodopsin
Proteorhodopsin (PR) is a light-powered proton pump. It creates a proton motive force across the membrane that can subsequently power cellular processes, such as ATP synthesis.
Usage and Biology
We improved part BBa_K773002 of Caltech 2012 by adding a strong RBS.
We placed BBa_K1604000 under an inducible promoter and we fully characterized proteorhodopsin.
To see the characterization results check the part BBa_K1604010.
