Lac repressor System (LacRS)

Lac Respressor System

This Biobrick has been created in order to facilitate the usage of lac repressor operon on E. coli strains that does not posses it (i.e. "E. coli DH5A"). Until this moment there was no functional complete lac repressor in the registry.

We have cloned the Lac repressor system upstream a GFP Biobrick in order to observe the functionality of our part under induction of IPTG.

Our positive results have helped to improve the characterization of this Biobrick's main component: BBa_P0312. Up to this date there was no experimental data for BBa_P0312 proving its functionality.
