sfGFP(Bs)

Usage and Biology

This gene codes for the sfGFP(Bs) protein, an optimized fluorescent reporter. This sfGFP was originally optimized for Bacillus subtilis. When it was tested in different species it showed high fluorescence in Lactococcus lactis. The sfGFP(Bs) has a very high performance in L. lactis compared to other GFP proteins, and also works really well in other bacteria like B. subtilis, Escherischia coli and Streptococcus pneumoniae.
