PchBA

This BioBrick contains the coding sequence for the two enzymes PchA and PchB. This part was submitted in pSB1C3 to the registry by the UniTN-Trento 2013, using an original part of iGEM MIT 2006 BBa_J45319 in pSB1AT3.

This part was cloned by the iGEM UniTN Trento 2013 team for the creation of Wintergreen Devices BBa_K1065102 and BBa_K1065106.

Usage and Biology

PchB is a isochorismate-pyruvate lyase while PchA is a isochorismate synthase, both from the microorganism Pseudomonas aeruginosa. These enzymes are responsible for the production of salicylate acid.
