Because this las promoter is not characterized, we can't judge whether this las promoter is working or not. Therefore we improved this part. LasI promoter(BBa_K649000) which we constructed was successfully regulated by 3OC12-HSL.

+The part <partinfo>BBa_K091117</partinfo> was ordered from the iGEM registry and assembled with the RBS <partinfo>BBa_B0032</partinfo>.
+Using this device in combination with an ampicillin resistance gene (<partinfo>BBa_K1073003</partinfo>) cells showed a higher growth rate in ampicillin containing media when the promoter was induced. The device shows leakiness to a constant low degree in yeast extract complex media. Background activity of the genes downstream of the promoter were detected in all experiments. However activity was much higher when the promoter was induced by LasR and N-3-oxododecanoyl-HSL.
