The chromoprotein aeBlue has a distinct blue color. In order to avoid absoption of the chomoproteins during measurement with the photometer, the absorption and emission spectra were measured.

absorption maximum for aeBlue: 595 nm

emission maximum for aeBlue: none (dark quencher)


Accordingly the photometer measurements for growth curves were carried out by 520 nm with respect to the chromoproteins amilGFP (BBa_K1073024) and erforRed (BBa_K1073022).
