The functionality of this promoter was tested by transforming ''Pichia pastoris'' with a construct containing reporter <partinfo>BBa_K945004</partinfo> under the control of this promoter. The culture was induced with methanol at a 1% concentration and visualized using fluorescence microscopy. Note: Its other inducer, methylamine, is regulated for its use as a precursor for controlled substances.

Characterization by Tec-Monterrey EKAM iGEM 2012

The functionality of this promoter was tested by transforming Pichia pastoris with a construct containing reporter BBa_K945004 under the control of this promoter. The culture was induced with methanol at a 1% concentration and visualized using fluorescence microscopy. Note: Its other inducer, methylamine, is regulated for its use as a precursor for controlled substances.
