CYP2E1
CYP2E1 gene encodes the protein, Cytochrome P450 2E1 protein. It possesses a few functions such as its participation in the oxidative metabolism of a range of substrates like small polar molecules. Furthermore, it is able to convert ethanol to acetaldehyde and acetate in humans.
