Reporter system for SST (BBa_K899000)

A construct containing the lacl promoter, the sucrose sucrose fructosyltransferase (SST) gene and part E0240 consisting of RBS, Green flourescent protein (GFP) and two terminators. This construct was designed with the promoter BBa_R0010 in order to control transcription. We suspect transcription of 1-SST to greatly inhibit bacterial growth with the production of plant inulin. LacI protein and CAP can succesfully inhibit transcription of both genes to allow the bacteria to grow. With the addition of IPTG to the medium, LacI will be inhibited and transcription can resume.
