Appearance of pUCori-red, in pSB4K15 and DH5α, on LA plate.

pMB1 ori - RFP cassette

This is a minimal high-copy replication origin coupled to the standard RFP casette BBa_J04450. Any vector containing K864120 will be propagated at high copy and express a strong red color after 12-18 hours of incubation. Also known as "pMB1ori-red".

  • LacI sensitive
  • CAP sensitive

Usage and Biology

Usable as default insert of low and medium copy backbones. This is the default insert of the pSB4x15 series of backbones.

The constitutive version of this part, BBa_K864121, may be more practical for most applications.
