+ | This part produces ADC, which is the second step in the conversion of cellular fatty acyl-ACPs to alkanes. ADC decarbonylates the aldehyde produced in the first step by Acyl-ACP Reductase. This part is best used in combination with some kind of reductase, to form alkanes from the aldehydes made by the reductase. | ||

ADC-PSB1C3-High consititutive
This part consists of Aldehyde Decarbonylase, from Synechococcus elongatus, in PSB1C3 high consititutive vector. This was an important negative control in testing the PetroBrick - which consists of Aldehyde Decarbonylase and another part from Synechococcus elongatus, Acyl-ACP Reductase.
