CspA (Polaribacter irgensii)
This BioBrick encodes the CspA protein of the Arctic cryophile Polaribacter irgensii. It's homologous to E. coli 's cold-induced RNA chaperones CspA and CspD, and highly similar to P. irgensii's CspC (K538004). Uh et al. managed to increase the freeze/thaw cycle survival rate of E. coli more than five-fold by overexpressing this protein. (Figure 1)
