Aldehyde Decarbonylase (ADC) - Synechococcus elongatus PCC7942
Produces the enzyme that removes the carbonyl group (C=O) from the fatty aldehyde, yielding an alkane one carbon shorter than the original Acyl-ACP and a molecule of formate. Works together with Acyl-ACP Reductaseto produce odd chain length alkanes.
Usage and Biology
Aldehyde Decarbonylase reduces fatty aldehydes into odd chaing length alkanes.
