Ribosome Binding Sites/Prokaryotic/Constitutive/Miscellaneous
In addition to the RBS families listed above, the registry has a collection of miscellaneous constitutive prokaryotic RBSs. These RBSs are typically designed for a specific application or correspond to the natural RBS used by a particular gene in an organism of interest. While these RBS are likely to work for gene expression in E. coli, we recommend using the families described above as there is typically more data on their behavior and they have been shown to work by multiple groups. The miscellaneous collection also includes some RBS designed to work for genes coded on the reverse DNA strand.
