Truncated Control H-Fibroin of G. Pellucidus
The silk of the caddisfly species Glyphotaelius pellucidus contains two proteins: a "light chain" l-fibroin and a much longer "heavy chain" h-fibroin. The much longer h-fibroin consists of numerous repeats of DNA motifs labeled as RM1 and RM2 regions. This part is a truncated version of the G. Pellucidus h-fibroin that contains just one of the RM1 motiff, and one of the RM2 motiffs; it is the shortest possible truncation, and thus can serve as a control for creating synthetic silk.
