This part codes for a single-guide RNA (sgRNA) that is complemetary to the DNA sequence that needs to be cut. Cas9 will associate with the sgRNA and if the sgRNA finds its complementary sequence, Cas9 will induce a double-strand break in proximity of it, opening the DNA double helix.
