Beta-carotene 15

The Beta-carotene 15'15'-monooxygenase from the D. melanogaster ninaB gene cleaves beta-carotene into two molecules of retinal. Used together with BBa_K274210 (beta-carotene generator) it should induce retinal biosynthesis in E. coli. For further information please refer to composite part K343006
