Design Notes

Although there is a 15 bp deletion in this promoter between the 27th and the 28th nucleotide versus the pLacIQ, there is also the addition of base pair at the 5' end of the sequence. This addition explains why both pLacIQ and pLacIQ1 have 56 bp total in their sequences, even with the 15 base pair deletion in pLacIQ1.
