The 2012 Distribution Kit also includes a mutant version of pSB1K3. This mutant version has a sbp mutation on its VR site. While the mutation will not affect the function of the plasmid, it may affect sequencing using the VR primer. Note: This version of pSB1K3 was sequenced using the correct VR primer three times. All three times, the primer annealed to the correct reading and gave an accurate sequencing read.
