pBar1 is a mating factor alpha responsive promoter endogenous to MATa type S. Cerevisiae. This histogram depicts fluorescence levels of cells containing alpha factor responsive promoters (pBar1; pAga1) driving production of GFP (green fluorescence protein). Unfortunately pBar1 has a very low level of activation, especially when compared to another alpha factor responsive promoter, pAga1.
