bphB protein from Pseudomonas furukawaii

Pseudomonas furukawaii was found to degrade lightly chlorinated PCB via a mutated version of biphenyl pathway. Codon optimized to express in yeast.

Usage and Biology

IGEM pathway.jpeg

Us, iGEM Chalmers Gothenburg, planned to engineer the following pathway to degrade a large spectrum of PCBs. A detailed pathway is shown in the diagram. This biobrick is a component of this pathway optimized to be expressed in yeast.

BphB protein: Cis-2,3-dihydrobiphenyl-2,3-diol dehydrogenase
