GoldenGate compatible Bax - cell death inducer
BAX coding sequence (Bcl-2-associated X) protein is a pro-apoptotic member of the Bcl-2 protein family which induces cell death.The part has been made compatible with the GoldenGate MoClo Assembly Standard as it is free from internal BsaI and BpiI recognition sequences.
iGEM14_NRP-UEA-Norwich chose to use this part as one of their reporters with results being detectable to the naked eye. On activation of the promoter, the protein is transcribed, driving cell apoptosis that is visible to the naked eye.
