Import enhancer - Polyarginine (trojan peptide)
Trojan peptides are short sequences that penetrate through the plasma membrane inside the cell without the need of any receptor or endocitosis process. They can be used to increase the efficiency with which a protein enters a cell.
This part is Polyarginine, and has to be used just before the coding sequence of the peptide that you want to be import enhanced.
This part includes a HindIII restriction site as an extra.
(Refer to Characterisation of cell-penetrating peptide-mediated peptide delivery [Jones et al 2005] for more information about polyarginine)

|Trojan peptides can penetrate cell membranes. Extreme your safety measures when dealing with strains expressing this part: avoid direct contact with them or conditioned medium and discard them as pathogenic residues.|
|This parts was originally built to be used in iGEM BsAs 2012 project to implement a cross-feeding regulatory system between two different yeast strains with specific auxotrophy. Visit our wiki to read details about the designing process and implementation details of our system. Also feel free to contact us for any question regarding this part.|
