TPH1 gene from Homo sapiens codon-optimized for E. coli with constitutive promoter
The TPH1 gene in humans uses L-tryptophan to produce 5-HTP, the biochemical precursor to serotonin. Serotonin reduces the effects of depression and anxiety. Increased expression levels of TPH1 can alleviate or eliminate depressive symptoms, but a negative feedback loop is recommended to prevent over-expression. -source (bba and team) -codon-optimized -check for restriction sites -add regulatory sequences (names and part numbers; any additional info about why they were chosen)
