Hydrophobic peptide - YYYPP
The hydrophobic tag was adapted from Y3P2‐GFPuv consistent of YYYPP (where Y indicates tyrosine and P proline). This tag was originally used for chromatography during protein separation. However, we decided to adapt this to enable our coloured proteins to embed in the hydrophobic beta-layer of the cortex of hair (Fexby et al., 2004).
